Drawing from a multidisciplinary background in fashion design and photography, Marta Scavone composes meticulously staged scenes where symbolic objects, vivid colour and theatrical framing become a language. Each image is a puzzle to be slowly decoded, a mirror of contemporary obsessions, fragilities and desires.

Bazaar of the Unconscious
2025A surreal self-portrait series exploring the threshold between unconscious and conscious. Each image is a visual rebus — a theatrical composition of symbolic objects and vivid colors — that asks the viewer to decode the unsaid and uncover the message hidden within, reflecting on the individual and contemporary society.
Fertile Vegetation
2023A staged photography project exploring why a woman of childbearing age might choose not to pursue motherhood. Set in a dreamlike, artificial woodland, the series follows an idealized chronology — conception, awareness, fetal development, breaking of waters, labor, childbirth — and the hesitations tied to each stage, opening space for alternative paths and a more inclusive discourse on motherhood.
Pandemic Fashion
2020A theatrical self-portrait series in which the artist embodies, one by one, the twelve most sought-after products in Italy during the first 2020 lockdown — wearing them as eccentric garments and accessories in ironic, performative poses. Each outfit is uniquely designed and entirely eco-sustainable, a deliberate counterpoint to the waste and exploitation of fast fashion.
